Volunteering at Emaho
A warmhearted community, rooted in kindness, compassion, and shared purpose.
Service as practice
Volunteering at Emaho Foundation is more than simply offering a helping hand — it is an opportunity to become part of a warmhearted community rooted in kindness, compassion, and shared purpose.
Many of us discover that through small acts of service — whether making coffee, welcoming newcomers, helping organize events, or quietly tending to the center — our own practice deepens in unexpected ways. A volunteer community thrives through many small acts of care offered consistently and joyfully.
The strength and beauty of Emaho have always rested upon the generosity and commitment of those willing to help however they can.
Mindfulness in the shared space
As with any shared sacred space, a little mindfulness from each of us helps keep the center peaceful and welcoming for everyone. We kindly encourage everyone to help keep the areas around their seating spaces neat and cared for, and assistance after community meals is always deeply appreciated.
Sometimes the simplest acts — wiping a counter, carrying supplies, helping with a small errand, or tidying a room — become quiet expressions of practice in daily life.
Twice each year
Vajrasattva Day
Twice each year we gather for what we affectionately call Vajrasattva Day, inspired by Vajrasattva — community days of cleaning, refreshing, and caring for the center together with joyful spirit and appreciation.
A more sustained role
From time to time, volunteer opportunities also arise for those who may wish to offer a particular professional skillset or take on a more ongoing role within the community. If you feel inspired and have the time and commitment to participate in this way, we warmly invite you to contact us.
Our volunteer coordinator can provide additional information, including volunteer forms, position details, and our volunteer handbook, which helps introduce the spirit and responsibilities of serving within the Emaho community.
